Professional Facebook Profile

Now, I have two facebook accounts; one is for entertainment, and one is for business purpose. To be honest, at first I doubt how a facebook page can be professional. I mean I used to use it to chat with my friends. However, after I read the article 12 Ways to Use Facebook Professionally, I understand a little.
This is a professional facebook profile, so I become very careful to fill out the information on the facebook page. I choose a globe as my business photo since I want to be an international analyst in Food Industry.  If I want to find a job, the “education and work” part is very important. I write down my feelings about work, and what I have learned from work. Also, I write down my favorite music, sports, books and so on.
There are many advantages of using facebook to find jobs; I can join the group which is beneficial to my career, I can chat with co-workers to get different point of views about the same events. This facebook page is a connection between you and your work. I totally agree with Cameron that this page can attract employers attention compare to a trational resume.I have to say that facebook is very popular worldwide, so I believe a professional facebook profile could be very useful.

introductory post

My name is Chen Gai, and I come from the north part of mainland China. In Chinese, this “chen” means precious treasures. My mother gives this name to me to represent how much she loves me.
I am so excited to share these in my new blog name viola&gamma. Actually, my blog name has some connections with my friends. One of my best friends is called viola, and she gives me a nick name called gamma. Even though I have no idea why she called me that, but I love it.
Now, let’s move to the next topic. I am currently a second year student in University of Alberta, and my major is food business management. I love this program since I can learn food processing methods as well as methods used to analyze food industry. In the future, I could be an international policy analyst in food industry to analyze and control food safety and food quality. In China, the food industry is not as developed as western country, so I want to use my knowledge to improve food quality there. As an international policy analyst, this requires a high standard of communication skills. My personality is a little bit shy, so I should be more opened-mind and communicate with others to exchange opinion and to learn from others. Also, this is 21st century, the internet is fully developed, and it is an effective tool to explore news and whatever I am interested.
That’s it. I feel more comfortable to use this new tool—blog to communicate!
